A musical theatre, intensive 3-day workshop preparing tomorrow’s young artists for a career in the performing artsFor young performers aged 8 to 18 years
Created by Queenie van de Zandt, one of musical theatre’s best-loved stars, Australia’s leading teacher of audition technique and renowned ‘musical theatre star-maker’, this 3-day workshop is designed to help young people excel in professional musical theatre auditions.
With current blockbuster musicals Mary Poppins, TINA: The Tina Turner Musical, Beauty & the Beast, Elvis: A Musical Revolution, Midnight: The Cinderella Musical and Miss Saigon all featuring young performers in lead roles, there’s never been a better time to be a young performer in the arts and to brush up on your audition skills!
Over the past 20+ years, the unique audition and musical theatre techniques they teach in these workshops have helped countless young performers get cast in lead roles in musicals. Currently their former students are playing lead roles in all the musicals mentioned above, as well as & Juliet, Wicked, Grease & Chicago.
So, why not join them and take that next step toward a professional career in musical theatre!
Run over 3-jam-packed days, young performers are not only taught Queenie's unique approach to auditions and musical theatre performance which has seen hundreds of children and adults she’s worked with be cast in musicals, but, like all of the workshops and courses run by The Australian Musical Theatre Academy (AMTA), during the workshop your child or teen will also work with some of Australia’s leading performing and creative artists - the people who create and perform in Australia’s most prominent, commercial musicals.
After the workshop, parents will also be sent material to help navigate their child through the professional audition process.
This 3-day intensive workshop is comprehensive whilst also being so much fun, with young performers leaving the workshop:
- Having worked with some of Australia’s best musical theatre practitioners
- Having had an experience of what is involved in a professional audition and how they run
- Knowing how to prepare what they need to know to walk into an audition with confidence and ease
- With the edge they need to get the part!
As well as that, at the end of the workshop parents will:
- Have been sent an email with invaluable follow up material, such as Queenie’s e-book: “How to Audition for a Professional Musical”, to help you navigate the logistics of having such a talented youngster or teen
- Have been entertained (and amazed) when you see your talented tyke’s presentation of all they’ve learnt, at the end of the workshop
- Have been able to ask 101 questions as part of the Q & A session at the end of the workshop
