Calypso Club is a poolside rum and seafood bar, perched up in tropical Cairns, right at the heart of the Crystalbrook Riley. Inspired by bygone holidays lazing by the coast and sipping piña coladas, it is a vibrant meeting place where friends and strangers come to relax, indulge, be entertained and feel a part of something. Designed by Mitchell & Eades, the space is equal parts playful and bright as it is elegant and charming, with bespoke daybeds, warm tones and a standout terrazzo marble bar. By day, it’s a smooth seaside paradise, but by nightfall, its colourful layers start to unfurl and the magnetic energy of wordly beats echo from afar to draw you in. With a curated music program that will get you grooving, the club invites you to relax and embrace the seaside spirit of our lush paradise. Our unique cocktail program is inspired by the Far North Queensland sugar cane history, with a focus on local and international rums and fresh seasonal tropical fruit. Drinks are given a refreshing lift thanks to our custom shaved ice machine, where nostalgic holiday tipples are reimagined in a contemporary ‘Calypso’ way. Alongside tap beer, killer wines and some oyster friendly bubbles, our beverage program is committed to low and no waste practices. The food is inspired by European seaside tavernas and American crab shacks, using fresh local seafood – fish burgers, grilled scallops and our own local version of a lobster roll is the order of the day. We source products carefully, paying attention to our carbon footprint and responsibility to sustainability.
