Founded in 1986 by Peter and Ann Doughan, Sydney's Patioland began as a small family operation in their garage, specializing in designing and building patio enclosures and pergolas. Initially employing just two staff members, the company quickly expanded, necessitating a move in early 1989 to a rented facility at Bearing Rd, Seven Hills. By 1992, the workforce grew to eight, prompting the purchase of their own factory at Vardy’s Rd, Marayong. This location housed their operations for a decade, during which the company saw continuous growth.

In response to increasing demand, Sydney’s Patioland moved to a larger factory at 41 Third Avenue, Blacktown. Today, the company employs 15 full-time staff and has broadened its expertise to include pergolas, decks, patios, opening roofs, insulated roofing, custom awnings, timber decking, and carports.
